Bringing Guests
Should you wish to bring a guest to a sprint, you are responsible for the costs of their travel, food, insurance and any additional hotel costs (double occupancy charges etc).
Canonical can no longer facilitate guest bookings through our TMC. All personal guest travel should be arranged and paid for separately.
The Riviera hotel is adults-only (Over 18). Children are not permitted in the hotel or convention center (including all restaurants within the Riviera complex). Anyone bringing children will be accommodated at the Beach/Caribe hotels. We currently have no rooms at the family hotels for week 1 - please complete this form by Friday 19th June if you plan to bring children to the first week.
You will also need to update your Indico Registration with your guest information.
Accommodation Costs
Canonical covers the cost of a single occupancy room on sprint dates only. You are responsible for the following and these costs will be payable directly to the hotel when you check in:

Double occupancy charges/family charges on the dates when your guest shares your room. For example if your guest is staying one night, you will be charged the occupancy fee for one night only - the rate is all inclusive.

The full cost of the room for any additional nights that you choose to stay (see costs below).

Example: If you bring your partner and 2 children (under 12), the cost per night (during sprint dates) would be $95+ $74 + $74 per day, plus taxes. If you add extra nights, the additional cost would be $476 + $74 + $74 per night, plus taxes.
Your sprint dates must be booked as part of our group booking. Any extra nights may be booked directly if you find a cheaper rate online.

Adding Vacation/Personal Travel
If you wish to add personal days to your business trip, then you are responsible for covering the following costs:

Any accommodation costs outside of the sprint dates: Canonical covers the following dates only:

Product Roadmap or Engineering Sprint: Sunday to Friday nights inclusive (6 nights)

Managers' Induction; Monday to Friday nights inclusive (5 nights total)

Induction Sprint: Tuesday to Friday nights inclusive (4 nights total)
- If you are staying both weeks, the middle weekend is included and paid for.

These costs will be payable directly to the hotel. Please see above for costs.

Any costs during your personal days cannot be expensed).

Any difference in flight cost between your chosen dates and the required sprint dates.

Travel Insurance
Please note that our business travel insurance only covers Canonical team members during the business travel dates, you will need to source separate insurance for your guest(s) plus any additional days taken for vacation.
